Welcome to Barking Wishes Senior Pet Rescue and Sanctuary
At Barking Wishes, we believe that senior dogs—those wise, gray-muzzled souls—deserve more than a spot on a shelter floor. They deserve dignity. They deserve peace. They deserve a second chance.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based and volunteer-run rescue, with a small sanctuary space for senior dogs who are unadoptable or in need of lifelong hospice care. Whether they’re with us for a short stay or for the rest of their lives, they are family.

We specialize in saving senior dogs who are often the first to be passed over and the last to be helped. Our dogs come from:

Scary, overcrowded shelters where they’re at high risk of euthanasia

Homes where their owners have passed away or entered long-term care

Situations of neglect, abandonment, or urgent need
They may come to us broken, scared, or sick—but they leave knowing love, safety, and peace.
